Fully integrated sawmills allow us to use smaller logs, extract more lumber from each log, and use 100% of each tree. In addition, state-of-the-art technology enables faster production cycles, cost reductions, and innovative timber processing techniques such as cross laminated and glue laminated timber. Carbon capturing and the production of organic-coal are another integral cornerstone of our fully integrated sawmill, enabling a green energy source and energy self-sufficiency. Moosehead Capital is therefore perfectly positioned to meet the growing demands of the U.S. timber and carbon markets while contributing to a greener future.
We actively oversee and manage our forest assets with a focus on sustainable stewardship. Through our approach we are able to increase total growth of our forests as well as decrease environmental risks. Our long-term strategy includes biodiversity and a focus on the forest’s health, therefore enabling increased tree quality and returns for our investors.
Fully integrated sawmills enable the production of state-of-the-art timber products, including glued laminated timber (GLT) and cross laminated timber (CLT), which offer enhanced strength and durability. Both are promising emerging markets. They are renewable and sustainable alternatives to concrete and steel in the construction of multistory as well as large-scale buildings, enabling a greener construction industry.
